SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

Innumerable tones of solid waste are generated every year across India. A very small percentage of this is composted, while the rest is dumped in landfills. In rural areas, examples of solid waste include wastes from kitchens, gardens, cattle sheds, agriculture, and materials such as metal, paper, plastic, cloth, and so on. They are organic and inorganic materials with no remaining economic value to the owner produced by homes, commercial and industrial establishments.

Our aim is-

  • To implement SWM initiatives efficiently at the grassroots level and community involvement at all stages.
  • Building SWM capacity on the ground level can be done by facilitating training for district and state-level functionaries on the latest technologies and creating awareness about managing solid waste on local and household levels.
  • To reduce the waste that is being used as landfill.
  • To increase the fertility of the land that is reduced by toxic waste.
  • To keep our surroundings clean and nature healthy.
  • To increase the dumping of biodegradable waste into compost, and non-biodegradable, non-recyclable waste into landfill sites.
