RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Rural development usually refers to the method of enhancing the quality of life and financial well-being of individuals, specifically those living in populated and remote areas. Rural development is a term that concentrates on the actions taken for the development of rural areas to improve the economy. More than two-thirds of the country’s people are dependent on agriculture for their livelihood, and one-third of rural India is still below the poverty line.

Rural development is important not only for the majority of the population residing in rural areas but also for the overall economic expansion of the nation. It focuses on the action for the development of areas that are lagging behind in the overall development of the rural economy.

The problems that we face with rural people are their poor understanding and low level of education for comprehending new technology, lack of awareness, and lack of infrastructure facilities. By tackling these problems and creating awareness among them we can contribute to rural development.
